ABOUT MOLA FOUNDATION

For those who are unfamiliar with the Mola Foundation, here is a brief description of our organization and a few of our past and ongoing endeavors.
The Mola Foundation is a charitable organization certified as tax exempt by the IRS under section 501(c) 3. The foundation operates exclusively for charitable, educational and cultural events. It was founded in 1990 by a group of Italian American businessmen from different regions and cities of the beautiful land of Italy. The foundation, as an organization, and each of its members, belong to the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) in Washington, D.C. It is the largest Italian American foundation in the country and is our voice in Washington.
The foundation holds a dinner dance as its annual major fund raising event. The Annual Dinner Dance is usually in the spring and the proceeds go toward charitable organizations such as the American Heart Association, Italian Cultural Center, Scalabrini Mission Center, Marklund Children Home, and many scholarships to worthy students and other activities aimed at boasting our culture and traditions.
We are proud of our culture and dedicated to the Italian community. The Mola Foundation was the proud sponsor of Valentina Patruno, winner of the 2001 Miss Italia Nel Mondo contest held in Salsomaggiore, Italy.
Throughout the years, the Mola Foundation has contributed to many worthy causes. Some of these causes include the following:
* Awarding college scholarships to many local students;
* Donating to Casa Italia and the Italian Cultural Center, including $32,000 for roofing and $10,000 for utility bills;
* Over the years, more than $200,000 has been donated for a senior citizens home and a youth home in Mola di Bari, Italy;
* Donating funds to the American Heart Association, Scalabrini Mission Center, Marklund Children’s Home, and others;
* Contributing $10,000 to “Italidea”, a program to teach the Italian language and culture in our local schools;
* Donating $10,000 to the Y-Me Foundation of Chicago for breast cancer research.
Some of the above organizations have received assistance for several years.
Again, the purpose of the Mola Foundation is to further education, culture, and charity.
Please help us to continue in these worthy endeavors.
